Berlin - Werner Schroeter dreht "Diese Nacht". Sieben Jahre nach seinem letzten Spielfilm Deux steht Regisseur Werner Schroeter wieder hinter der Kamera. Basierend auf einem Buch von Juan Carlos Onetti inszeniert Schroeter zur Zeit in Portugal den Spielfilm Diese Nacht. In den Hauptrollen sind Pascal Greggory, Elsa Zylberstein und Bulle Ogier zu sehen.
In Diese Nacht begibt sich der Anführer einer gescheiterten Widerstandsbewegung auf die Suche nach seinen ehemaligen Verbündeten und seiner Geliebten.
Produziert wird Diese Nacht von Alfama Films, Filmgalerie 451 und Clap Filmes. Von deutscher Seite wird die Koproduktion von der FFA und dem Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg unterstützt.

Un cuento del escritor uruguayo Juan Carlos Onetti será llevado al cine por un director alemán bajo producción portuguesa.
Werner Schroeter, veterano director de la época del nuevo cine alemán de Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Wim Wenders y Werner Herzog, dirigirá Une Nuit de Chien.
El elenco, de nacionalidad francesa, será encabezado por Pascal Greggory, Bruno Todeschini, Bulle Ogier, Eric Caravaca y Amira Casar.
El filme será rodado en Oporto y producido por el portugués Paulo Branco a partir de marzo próximo, con fecha de estreno prevista para el 2009.

Veteran German helmer Werner Schroeter will direct "For Tonight" (Une nuit de chien), adapted from the novel by Uruguayan author Juan Carlos Onetti, producer Paolo Branco said Sunday.
The $6.5 million film will star Pascal Greggory, Bruno Todeschini, Bulle Ogier, Eric Caravaca, Amira Casar and Jean-Francois Stevenin. The script is by Gilles Taurand ("Time Regained"). The story is set in an imaginary town against the backdrop of civil war and turns around the things people will do to survive.
"Nuit de chien" will shoot for nine weeks in Porto beginning in March. Upstart Gallic distributor Le Pacte will release the film in France, with Branco selling the rest of the world. The picture is a co-production between Branco's Paris-based Alfama Films and his Portugal-based Clap Filmes banner, and Berlin-based Film Gallery 415.
Schroeter won Berlin's Golden Bear for his 1980 drama "Palermo or Wolfsburg." His other credits include "Malina" and "Day of the Idiots."

Six ans après Deux, Werner Schroeter revient à la mise en scène Nuit de chien. Adapté par Gilles Taurand d’un roman de Juan Carlos Onetti, le film sera produit par Alma Films, la société de Paulo Branco.
En attendant de se lancer dans les projets déjà annoncés (et toujours susceptibles d’évoluer) The Few et Frankie Machine, Michael Mann commencera dès le mois de mars le tournage de Public Enemies. Ce film policier situé dans les années 1930 et relatant la naissance du FBI aura pour interprète Johnny Deep, dans le rôle du ganster John Dillinger, confronté à un agent fédéral que devrait jouer Christian Bale.

Schroeter volta em breve a Portugal para filmar uma ideia do seu velho amigo Branco, uma adaptação de Juan Carlos Onetti. Paulo Branco conta que em tempos Godard lhe pediu ajuda para conhecer Onetti. Branco arranjou o encontro e ficou ele próprio muito impressionado com Onetti. O filme que Branco e Godard chegaram a planear (metia Pessoa, O Filme do Desassossego) nunca aconteceu e é uma das coisas que Paulo Branco lamenta, nunca ter produzido Godard. Portanto, desse não-filme de Godard ainda vai sair o filme de Schroeter. A Branco basta saber que as coisas aconteceram assim. Ele fê-las acontecer.
